Do you know how dangerous boating can be? Can you believe that it’s a leading cause of injury and death in recreation? In the U.S. alone, there are 600 deaths a year due to boating. I’m shocked!
Sure, I’ve heard of various boating accidents that they usually seem like rare events and causes. Surprisingly, most accidents in boating come from the operator not paying close enough attention to their responsibilities. It’s sad that the operators can’t keep their passengers safe. I know a lot of people go out for some fun on the water in the summer and it shouldn’t end in tragedy due to distraction.
My family went on a river boat cruise while on vacation this summer and I sure am glad that our operators were paying attention and kept us safe! They even gave all of the children a turn to steer and still managed to get us all back to shore safely.
