I have decided to declare May a month for blessing others! When I first came up with the current name of this blog, I wanted to share the ways I had been blessed, unimaginably so, and encourage you all to take part in blessing others.
For the past 7+ weeks we have all been experiencing an unexpected pandemic that has shut down our normal lifestyles. Schools are closed. Businesses are shut down. People are working from home or no longer receiving a paycheck. We have been in quarantine and following stay at home orders. There is no better time to try to help others.
Don’t worry, there is truly something that everybody can do to bless somebody else. It doesn’t have to require money or something grand. All it takes is a moment or two and the desire to help somebody else.
Here are some ways you can help others in May:
*Phone call *Video chat *Text message *Facebook message *E-mail
*Assist an elderly person with groceries/supplies
*Donate to a local food bank/charity *Give money anonymously
*Leave a surprise message with sidewalk chalk
*Tell somebody you appreciate them *Thank an essential worker
*Mail a letter *Share a child’s artwork *Encourage a teacher
*Prepare a homemade meal *Bake a favorite treat *Just sit and talk
*Play a game together *Watch a movie together *Help with chores
*Offer a listening ear *Listen to what is bothering someone
*Pray for others *Offer helpful advice *Smile at someone
*Tell somebody you’re proud of them *Get to know somebody new
*Include somebody who is usually alone *Donate unused items *Volunteer *Share your resources *Draw a picture *Make a craft
*Share uplifting books or music *Teach something *Send flowers *Clean up litter *Be kind *Encourage a child *Comfort someone
What will you do to bless somebody each day in May? If you have something to add to the list, please share.
