My kids like meat. As I’ve mentioned before I’ve never been a big meat eater (especially when I was a vegetarian haha). So preparing meals with this type of protein isn’t always the easiest for me. I tend to stick to my usual things and hope for the best. Sometimes they like it, sometimes they don’t. Well, I’m trying to change that and Acme Fresh Market is helping me out with their Certified Angus Beef!
Acme Fresh Markets really focus on top of the line meats and that is where you will find Certified Angus Beef. This beef is not just a cut, it is actually a breed of cattle. In the 70’s, a group of farmers got together and decided: “We can do better. We can produce beef that’s extremely tender, juicier and always packed with flavor.” They did just that and have been at it since 1978. To make the grade, first the meat has to be USDA PRIME and then meet an additional 10 quality standards. Only the best beef comes from a group of family ranchers who not only care for their cattle but are also proud to see it served. Because of this, Certified Angus Beef is truly a cut above the rest.
When I met my local butcher Greg at my Norton Acme Fresh Market I told him all about being unsure on what beef to purchase for my family. I told him when I place an Order Acme pickup I just type in steak or beef and randomly pick something that sounds good. I told him that my kids love steak and I couldn’t go home without an easy to grill option that would not be tough. He went right to showing me all of the Certified Angus Beef options that were on display and specifically pointed out the grillers section. Guys – there were quite a few options! Even for someone like me to work with!
For this go around, I opted for a thin sliced boneless ribeye. I wasn’t quite ready to attempt the thick filets because I worried that it would be difficult to fully cook for this no pink family. Greg reassured me that it would grill up nicely. He was right. I even ate a little more than I normally do.
Greg told me that he likes to encourage his customers, like me, to try new things just as if we are at a restaurant trying out a new meal there. He is confident in helping his customers choose something new because he believes in Acme Fresh Market’s relationship with Certified Angus Beef. He told me that he would not be able to work there and sell meat from cattle that was not properly cared for from the beginning.
If I’m going to be cooking meat, it has to be the BEST so that I can make my best meals for my family because they deserve it. I’m happy that I have Acme Fresh Market’s nearby for all of my Certified Angus Beef needs. Be sure to keep an eye out for the Certified Angus Beef on your next shopping trip whether that is in person or online.
